Welcome to School of Codes (SOC). By accessing our website (www.schoolofcodes.com) or using our services, including courses, boot camps, the Industry Placement Program (IPP), the Industry Alliance Program (IAP), and the Industry Immersion Program (IIP), you agree to comply with these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our website and services.
These Terms of Use are governed by Malaysian law and applicable international regulations.
1. Definitions
- “SOC” / “We” / “Our” / “Us” refers to School of Codes, including its programs and services.
- “User” / “You” refers to any visitor, learner, employer, or partner accessing our website or services.
- “Services” refers to all educational programs, boot camps, training, resources, and industry collaboration initiatives offered by SOC.
- “IPP (Industry Placement Program)” refers to the structured placement program where SOC graduates undergo a one-month trial with potential employers, leading to permanent employment opportunities.
- “IAP (Industry Alliance Program)” refers to SOC’s initiative for companies to register and participate in pitching sessions to recruit SOC graduates.
- “IIP (Industry Immersion Program)” refers to specialized training, internships, or real-world industry exposure programs that provide learners with hands-on experience in professional settings.
2. Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old, or have parental/guardian consent if under 18.
- Provide accurate and complete registration information.
- Be an individual learner, company representative, or employer in compliance with SOC’s terms.
- Agree to follow the rules set by SOC for educational participation and industry collaboration.
3. Use of Services
By using SOC’s website and services, you agree to:
- Use SOC content for personal, educational, or authorized business purposes only.
- Not copy, distribute, or modify SOC materials without prior permission.
- Not engage in misconduct, including hacking, unauthorized access, or disruptive behavior.
- Respect intellectual property rights related to SOC content, materials, and industry partnerships.
- Follow SOC’s code of conduct during online and in-person engagements.
SOC reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to any user violating these terms.
4. Enrollment, Payments & Refunds
- Enrollment in SOC programs, including courses and boot camps, requires full or partial payment, depending on the program structure.
- Payments are processed securely, and no refunds will be issued unless explicitly stated.
- SOC reserves the right to modify course fees, program offerings, or enrollment policies at any time.
- Fees for participation in the Industry Alliance Program (IAP), Industry Placement Program (IPP), and Industry Immersion Program (IIP) are subject to SOC’s industry partnership agreements.
5. Industry Alliance Program (IAP), Industry Placement Program (IPP) & Industry Immersion Program (IIP)
a) Industry Alliance Program (IAP)
- The Industry Alliance Program (IAP) is open to companies and organizations seeking to recruit SOC graduates.
- Registered IAP companies may participate in graduate pitching sessions and recruit candidates for a one-month trial through the Industry Placement Program (IPP).
- Participation in IAP does not guarantee employment offers, as final hiring decisions are at the discretion of the employer.
- Companies must comply with SOC’s policies regarding fair hiring practices, ethical recruitment, and data privacy.
- SOC reserves the right to remove or ban companies that engage in discriminatory practices, unethical behavior, or misuse of the program.
b) Industry Placement Program (IPP)
- The Industry Placement Program (IPP) allows SOC graduates to gain real-world experience by working with companies for a one-month placement with the potential for full-time employment.
- The placement is designed to bridge the gap between education and industry expectations.
- Companies participating in the IPP must provide a structured and meaningful work experience.
- SOC does not guarantee permanent employment after the placement, as hiring decisions remain with the employer.
c) Industry Immersion Program (IIP)
- The Industry Immersion Program (IIP) is a hands-on learning initiative that allows learners to experience real-world industry challenges.
- Participants may engage in short-term internships, on-site industry training, or collaborative projects with partner companies.
- The IIP provides exposure to cutting-edge tools, workflows, and industry best practices.
- SOC partners with companies to ensure quality and value-driven experiences for participants.
- Enrollment in IIP may require additional eligibility criteria based on industry partner requirements.
6. Intellectual Property
- All content, materials, and resources on the SOC website and learning platform are owned or licensed by SOC.
- Users may not reproduce, distribute, or use SOC content for commercial purposes without written permission.
- Any content submitted by users (e.g., projects, assignments) may be used for educational and promotional purposes while crediting the user.
7. Code of Conduct
SOC maintains a professional and inclusive learning environment. Users must:
- Treat instructors, mentors, industry partners, and fellow learners with respect.
- Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior.
- Not spread misinformation or unauthorized content about SOC or its programs.
- Follow professional conduct in industry partnerships and placements.
SOC reserves the right to remove, suspend, or ban any user violating these principles.
8. Limitation of Liability
- SOC provides its services “as is” and does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
- SOC is not responsible for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages arising from the use of our services.
- SOC is not liable for third-party content, including links to external websites or employer placements.
Users agree that SOC’s total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the course or program in question.
9. Privacy Policy & Data Protection
By using our services, you agree to SOC’s Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, store, and protect your personal data.
SOC complies with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 and international data privacy laws where applicable.
10. Modifications to Terms
SOC reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Users will be notified of significant updates via email or website announcements. Continued use of our services after updates indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
- Any disputes shall first be resolved amicably through discussions.
- If unresolved, disputes will be referred to mediation or arbitration in Malaysia.
